Welcome to the website of the Rural Development Sociology group of Wageningen University. Rural Development Sociology in the Netherlands has evolved in close association with Cultural and Social Anthropology where Wageningen concentrates its efforts on rural and agricultural dimensions. Throughout the teaching and research programmes there is a strong anthropological approach evident in the use of ethnographic research methods and anthropological as well as sociological theories of social change.
